White-beaked Dolphins & Balearic Shearwaters star in new programme of UK cruises

During the summer of 2009, in conjunction with the research charity Marinelife, we ran a series of evening research cruises from Weymouth to watch rare Balearic Shearwaters and other seabirds off Portland Bill.

We also ran several full-day cruises out into Lyme Bay to watch White-beaked Dolphins, other cetaceans, and seabirds. During these cruises, not only was valuable data gathered by our Marinelife researcher-guides, Tom Brereton and James Phillips, but some fabulous sightings were achieved. Up to 60 White-beaked Dolphins, Harbour Porpoises, skuas, auks and three species of shearwater (Balearic, Manx and Sooty) were regularly among the highlights.
